Will you be needing any Red assistant coaches this season? I’ve trained with portland fit 3 times and have finished 2 marathons and was thinking I would like to be an AC this year. Thanks, Tracy

I’ve Registered last Saturday, Feb. 9th and I did not get the $10 “discount” it deducted to my debit card the full amount of $135.00 On the top of the page— I missed entering the code “EARLY” and click “apply code”

So, I was the cranky-pie from SE Portland who was going to quit. Folks, I have to confess Portland Fit is the ONLY awesome organization in the area who trains like this and has a strong walking group. AND it only took an additional 15 minutes to get there from my house!
So, join eastside people! Or join Vancouver. This is the place to be!

I enjoyed the kick off session last Saturday. I am in the red group. When I got home I downloaded the training schedule and i began to wonder if I will be prepared for the Rock n Roll Half on May 19. As I read the schedule, the longest run we will have done by then is 10 miles. Should I be concerned?

Is it too late to join? I was unable to make the two orientation sessions, so March 9th would be my first session. I have been running, albeit shorter distances (about 4 miles at a comfortable pace).

Hi! I just relocated my gift certificate for a six month membership for the 2013 marathon. I have been sick and will have surgery Thursday so will definitely be starting out walking!
I can’t for about 3 weeks so where would I sign up and meet up?

We've got another group starting on March 30. If you can come out that day, that's best. But the following week also work. Just bring your gift certificate with you on your first day and then fill out a registration form and give them your gift certificate. See you soon and good luck with the recovery! Do you have any one in your groups that are using the Galloway method of walk/run? I just signed up and will be there on the 6th. Completed my first marathon in last years Portland Full Marathon. Looking forward to the group.

We have in the past, and folks may be using it unofficially (like just on their own), but it's not an official group where we have a coach or assistant coach leading a certain pace group using that method. However, you are definitely free to use that technique. It really helps some folks!

I will be attending the orientation session on the 6th. Is that a running day as well or just an orientation? Is there a schedule posted somewhere? Also for this session do we always meet on the Westside or are there options to meet in NW? Thanks!

Yes, it's a running day. Yes, there will be a schedule posted (working on that today!) for the new group starting on 3/30. We always meet on the Westside at PRC-Beaverton. Thanks.

Hi — am looking at joining to get running again…currently mainly a walker — done PTC last 2 years and again this year. Not exactly sure if I want to do 1/2 but would like to get more fit and have organized training tools and group. Is this for someone like me?

You bet! You don't have to the half or full marathon to get something out of Portland Fit. Our training program does add mileage along the way, but you can modify it to remove some of the longer days to just focus on fitness if you want. Ask a Head Coach or Assistant Coach for help.

When you click the schedule link on our website menu, you don't see it? It should be there... Note that we do now have two schedules (one for folks starting in February and one for folks that just started 3/30). So you need to click the submenu choice from our main menu.
