I want to start by saying thank you to all those who spent there time to volunteer today. Those posted in specific areas really helped. If I could ask one favor though, next year is it possible to have someone over by the end of the Waterfront (Just past where the pot-head festival was). I heard quite a few runners say they got lost and ran by the shops area because there was nothing really to show them to turn prior. The map was awesome but it was a little confusing at that spot. And what happened to the last aid station. I got there on the home stretch at about 5 hours and they were gone.
But again, thank you so much for all who helped and put on the day, you were great motivators!!!!!!!
And also thanks to the runners that passed me and gave me encouragement, I think you all are awesome people!!!!!! I cant wait to see you all on the Big day!!!! Thanks again.

P.S. The massage was worth a million bucks at the end.

The course rocked, the volunteers rocked and the weather was nearly perfect.

Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to put this benchmark together.

biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Thank You !! Thank You !! Thank You !!

The course was great !

The volunteers though made our day !!

My daughter and I were having a bad head-to-toe day and were the last walkers to finish.
But WE DID FINISH !!! We could not have done it without all the awesome volunteers who gave us encouragement and all kinds of support all along the way. We met some awesome people today.
Thanks also to fellow runners / walkers for your encouragement.

Portland Fit is a great program and the ACs and the other volunteers from Portland and Vancouver Fit are the best !!!

Looking forward to October !!

I second all the rave reviews of our 21 mile benchmark, from the course route, to all the wonderful volunteers. And a big thank you to all the runners and walkers that gave their encouragement as they passed. It's just that little bit of positive reinforcement that makes me continue to push myself toward my goal.

And if you saw an idiot on Naito Parkway singing and doing "Fins to the Left, Fins to the Right" with my arms up in the air, that would be me. I know with that amount of energy left, I am definitely ready for the marathon. tongue.gif

Thanks again everyone.

Yes, thanks volunteers! I'd have to agree with next year having more people around the end of the waterfront and out and about in the Barbur Blvd loop we did. It was the most confusing, and we were all so tired by then that it would have been nice to have more people showing us where to go. smile.gif Other than that, it was a great benchmark!
