With a sick kid, dumping rain, and various other delays, I missed my training run yesterday. And... um... I also missed Monday's. I've been soooo good about getting my runs in until now, too! This week just threw me curveballs.
Anyway, I'm worried that the half-marathon will be extremely difficult for me -- I am doing a solo one tomorrow because I can't make Sunday -- if I don't do some kind of run today.
So, which is worse:
Doing a short (20-25 minutes), easy run to limber up the muscles today? Or just not doing a run at all?

Jeniferl,
I think I understand that you're running tomorrow, the day of the Helvetia Half, so I'm just a bit confused about your reference to Sunday. If you think the run will be extremely difficult, don't add anymore to it by going out and wearing your self out today. You should have a rest day to relax before any long run. As you've noticed, that's how your weekly schedule is built.
Let me also say that there are times in all of our lives, when life just gets in the way of our good intentions. Roll with it. Don't try to make up mileage. Enjoy a bit of extra rest and the hunger it brings with it to get out there again. Also, think positive about your ability. Rather than thinking "It's going to be extremely difficult.", how about thinking "It might not be what I expect of myself, but I know I can do it and learn from it." As you said, "I've been soooo good about getting my runs in until now, too!" This is just one of life's little speed bumps.
Have a great run tomorrow, I'm sure you'll do just fine.

Anyway, I woudn up not running at all on Friday, did my run on Saturday, and kicked butt, if I do say so myself. 8)
Thanks for all your support!
