I'm wondering how many P-Fitters and V-Fitters are in a situation like mine: for whatever reason, we're not planning to attempt a full marathon this year, but we'd like to do more 1/2 marathons. I'm registered for the Eugene Women's Half (Labor Day weekend), and planning to walk the Seattle half (Sunday after Thanksgiving). Would anyone like to chime in on a reasonable training schedule, and/or maybe make plans to do some of the training together?
One person has suggested to me that I just do half of the normal PFit weekend distance, but I'm not sure whether that's the best recommendation -- it seems like I'd be cutting back too far, especially in the next few weeks (though of course we haven't seen a schedule yet). I don't know if anyone has discussed this at VFit sessions -- I haven't been able to get there in the last 3 weeks, though I've done the mileage around my own neighborhood (except today; child just sick enough to need some attention).
It would be spectacularly fantastic if an AC were available to work with the not-so-long distance types, though I realize that may not be possible.

I'm a slow Purple walker -- but I generally get there.

I am planning on only doing two halfs also, Helvatia and then the Inaugral Portland half. Without talking to a coach, right now my plan is to stay with PFit thru the 25K and then back Saturday runs down and then build back up to the 11 miler the weekend before the second half. I was going to ask a coach what they thought of that. I use a Nike+ for mileage and will just start from Conway in time to get back for the seminars as usual. Sounds kind of logical, I guess.

With the new schedules being posted, I now see there are only two maybe three weekends that I would need to adjust schedule to not run with group, for sure the 21 miler and the 30K.
If any coach out there disagrees, please speak up.

Looking at the schedule, I think I'll just skip the longest few benchmarks and build a really solid mileage base for the half marathons. I'd probably skip the 25k as well, but I'm out of town that week so I'll be hiking instead!

I'm also really only training for a half marathon. I'm walking the Helvetia this weekend but want to run one eventually. I am probably going to do the same thing mentioned by another poster, stay with the group except for the runs over 13 miles, and do my own thing those weekends.

Same here. Not looking to increase mileage but would like to work on increasing my pace. I'm a very slow walker.
