Hi there,

On our recent 9 mile run with the red group I injured my hip flexor. It happened when I took a step that felt like stepping off an unexpected curb, just sort of a surprising feeling. I completed the run without issue, got in my car and drove home, then couldn't get out of my car sad.gif . The doctor says I have a strained hip flexor and prescribed crutches, pain pills and physical therapy leaving me out of the game for a month at least. When I'm healthy and ready to get back in the game, how do you suggest approaching the training schedule? After the Helvetia half (which I am not running in), will the mileage go back down again for a while? If so, I'm thinking this would be a great time for me to phaze back in.

Any suggestions and ideas would help!! Feeling lost without running!

Dr. Jake
Tenacious,
How has your two weeks of rest gone? Are you feeling some improvement? Have you been stretching? Have you done any core strengthening to rehab the area?
If you are able to run without a limp you can probably start back into the program..

Cheers,
Dr Jake
