I did just want to say to hang in there. I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail (10 years ago now) and got 12 blisters on the first day!

But I kept on and finished the trail 5 months later, and yes, I had a couple of blisters even on the last day. I think some of us are unlucky that way.
For me blisters are a function of heat. My feet get hot, I get blisters. Primarily, I get them in the area where the bottom of my heel meets the outside of my foot, where the skin kind of wrinkles and compresses as you step. Because it's not a rubbing blister there was very little I could do to prevent it. So, impossible as it might seem try to keep your feet cool when training, walk on shaded trails or early in the morning. Some hikers I knew swore by sandals, like chacos or tevas.
That being said, my husband swears by duct tape...which does not work for sweaty feet like mine. Good luck!
