Howdy,

On Sunday I rolled my ankle stepping off a curb (greatest way to do it right?), it hurt like hell for a few minutes, then felt fine so I played in a couple of kickball games, once again felt fine, and it wasn't until I had sat down later that night (about 5 hours later) that I started to feel the ankle. I iced it a bit and stayed off of it the rest of the night. Yesterday, the ankle was pretty sore and I didn't run at all. This morning I have no pain when I walk, only a bit when I twist the ankle around. I feel like I could run at a slow pace without any problems, but want to make sure I don't set myself back at all. Should I skip the run again today? Go for a short run? Hold off running until Saturday? What's the best plan of action for situations like this in the future?

Thanks,

J

P.S. Awesome groupon today, I'll be in for sure!

Jarvis,
Sorry to hear about the ankle. In general, if you have ANY doubts walking and/or jumping up and down on your foot and ankle, chose another form of conditioning. I believe the statistic is 90% of all non evaluated and non rehabilitated ankles will re-injure themselves within two weeks . The prognosis after the second sprain in is twice as bad as it initially was. Take care of it now, seek some help, get back to 100%, and then start running.

Be smart. Be cautious. Be patient.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
