I don't know what "circles" Mr. Burfoot has been traveling in, but everyone I know who runs road marathons squawks like a deranged parrot over & over again about "Swing from your knees, not your hips," "increase leg speed, don't try to take longer strides," "keep your feet as close to the ground as you can--even if you scrap the pavement a few times."
In fact, one of the funniest things ever is to go trail running with people who been doing lots of road work. Of course, your sense of humour has to run to the crass and mean (like mine does), but I promise you: after the run, The Three Stooges will seem boring......HA HA HA!
