I have been a patient at Clearwater since I started with Portland Fit in 2002. I have always thought them to be miracle workers. No matter what pain we have, they fix it. Their goal is the same as ours, to get us back to running. Their hands on approach, while sometimes painful (if it doesn't hurt, they aren't doing it right), gets the job done.
This season, their miracle work has continued. 10 days before the marathon, I somehow hurt my back. I could not even get out of bed without falling to the ground in pain. It hurt to sit, stand, walk, lay down, breathe. I went to see Dr. Greg. I was just about in tears. I reminded him that the marathon was 10 days away and I needed to be ready. He said, "don't worry".
I made 6 visits to Clearwater leading up to the marathon. I was so concerned that I wouldn't even make it to the start line. Dr. Jake shared my concern and just kept after it. Finally, my muscles loosened up. I felt like I could give it my best shot on Sunday.
I cannot even believe it - I finished the marathon with NO PAIN at all in my back. NONE. I don't even know how that is possible. Miracles, I tell you, miracles.
Clearwater again came to our rescue at the marathon on Sunday. My husband, Trevor, stepped in a pothole around mile 6 and hurt his foot. His day was over. He made his way to the Clearwater tent at the finish line where Jake took a look at his foot. He made an initial diagnosis and wrote up paperwork for xrays on Monday. Trevor has a broken foot that should heal rather quickly. He'll be visiting Clearwater for treatment to speed it along. Because, they work miracles after all.
We love them. Thanks Dr. Greg and Dr. Jake and of course Dr. Brian for putting together such a fantastic team. (We love Dr. Lindsey too!)
