They'll make a movie out of it someday...
Good job on the race! Good job on the report! I remember back to that day in June when I was watching your progress through my laptop. I'm sure you probably heard me cheering you on!? It's amazing what details you remember over the entire day.
And one more time for good measure...CONGRATULATIONS, IRONMAN!!!

Hi Randy,
That was a great race report on your blog. Very inspiring for a novice Triathlete.
I swam with you, kind of, earlier in June before the Blue Lake Tri - my first. 2 weeks later I did the Pac Crest Olympic. While the distance is shorter, I felt most of the same feelings you did...especially during the run in 102 degree heat.
But it's addictive - I did the Deschutes Dash 3 weeks later and now I am committed to the Half Ironman at Pac Crest next year...even got my husband to start swimming so he can join me.
Congratulations on finishing strong and enjoying every minute of it...even the hard parts.
Take care, Christa

Randy, thanks so much for sharing your experience in such vivid detail! Reading it made me feel like I was right there with you (minus the pain and smell). Thanks again!
