Hey all,
Who's planning on being at the Blue Lake tri this weekend? I'll be there for the Olympic distance on Sunday. See you there...
RunDougRun
Rachel Timmons and Lynn Hunter from my office are doing their first Tri with the Sprint on Saturday.

Randy & Marion are teaming up for the Olympic on Sunday. Hey Randy, are you saying I have to chase down Marion again!?! biggrin.gif

Melissa, April and I are soloing the Olympic on Sunday. Melissa's and April's first Oly Distance. WHOO-HOO!!!

I know there are some other P-Fitters racing. Good luck to everyone!!

See ya out there Ted!
Randy Wells
I'll be there with Marion doing a relay. I figured this would be good training for Ironman and to be able to mix it up with the lead swimmers at the beginning of the race.
Yes Doug, you will have to try to chase down Marion again. Also, please don't sneak up and spank me again on the bike course! blink.gif I almost crashed last year!
Go get em' Melissa and April!
I'll see you all Sunday morning!
Randy

Who, me?!? happy.gif

Nah, too close to the big day for that. Maybe just a simple, quiet,"HAMMER TIME!!!"

See you guys out there!

Hey Marion, is Byron In!!
AC Randy
I'll be out on Sunday as well.

Yes Byron and I are in. I actually just returned for cheering him on for his first Sprint Distance in 13 years! He not only finished but finished strong despite the pain he was enduring from rolling his ankle when I made him join me for a trail run on Thursday (Doh!!! sad.gif ) I'm very proud of him.

I love the energy and atmosphere of race day. I can't wait to be out there tomorrow myself! I will be doing the run portion of the Olympic Distance with Randy. He's willing to be seen with a newbie like myself. It will be such an honor to be next to someone at the elite level! smile.gif heehe Okay, I'll stop sucking up now. smile.gif I'm looking forward to cheering him on tomorrow and running my best for him while of course, having FUN!!!!

Good luck to all participants and great job to all who participated today!!!!

Are you dumbfounded yet? smile.gif 1st place isn't too bad if I do say so myself...we just won't tell anyone how many people were in our division! smile.gif hehe

Thanks for doing this with me. I had a great time!!! I'm really looking forward to my first full tri in July!!!

Congrats to all the finishers!!!!

Randy and Marion,
Congratulations on your First Place finish. You two Rock!!

Marion, it doesn't matter if you're the only team in your division. I always look at it this way, "Hey, we took the time to show up, and we RACED IT!!" biggrin.gif

Congratulations to Byron, Randy Peene, JR, Ted, Bonnie and especially to my wife Melissa, on her first Olympic finish. smile.gif

Thought of the day:
As Melissa was heading back to the car with her bike, wetsuit and transition bag, I asked her: "So what was harder, the race, or hauling all your crap back to the car?" Three sports = 3X the equipment. tongue.gif

I took photos of Byron on Saturday and he returned the favor for Randy and I on Sunday. Here are the pics!

Melissa,

Congrats! I didn't realize this was your first Olympic Distance. You seemed so calm and collected when I saw you before the swim. So, I had no idea. Great job!!!

Thank you very much - I was confident about the swim and ended up taking two minutes off my best swim time so I was very happy about that. The bike was not as eventful. I think I only passed one person, and technically he was not participating, in fact, I think he was just picking up scrap metal, but I passed him ! Small victories. biggrin.gif

As a last minute decision, I registered for the Sprint Du. I bought a new(used) bike in January and haven't had a lot of opportunity to ride, so I thought this might be it. Everything went well and I placed 2nd in my age group! I know - there weren't a lot of people registered for the Du, but still... smile.gif

Great job to all!!!!!!!!!

Awesome Job, Donna!!

Congratulations! When's the next one? biggrin.gif

LUNA All-Womens on August 2nd - I'm aiming for the Sprint Tri but may opt for the Tri-It. It will depend on how much swimming I get in between now and then...1/2 mile will be too far to dog-paddle unsure.gif

Hopefully I'll see some familiar faces out there!
AC Randy
I remember my 1st Tri and I didn't know a soul, so it was great to see familiar faces out there and everyone doing so well.
I had a lot of fun this past weekend.
RunDougRun
Randy,
I totally missed you on the run course! Did we pass each other somewhere? Oh, wait...maybe you were already done?! ohmy.gif

Doug,

I saw you on the course and Randy was ahead of me by a decent amount. So, I imagine you likely missed him. smile.gif

He's one speedy guy! I was thinking about this after the race, here I was working hard and happy with my 8:08 average pace. However, you all had swam and biked BEFORE that and I had fresh legs. Something tells me I won't be maintaining that kind of pace after swimming and biking at my next tri! smile.gif
