Hi everybody,
Due to work schedule conflict, I am unable to attend Portland for our 25K benchmark and was wondering if there were any other walkers/woggers from Vancouver with this same dilemma...if so I would love to find someone/anyone who would be willing to walk in Vancouver instead, on our usual Sunday..I am sure we could come up with a 25K route based on past routes...Let me know if there is any interest in this...
Thanks,
Kelly

Hi Kelly..
I am in the same boat (tied up on Saturday) and am interested, if we can get a group together. It would be very helpful..I am a walker and have been in P-Fit/V-Fit for five years. Average is around fifteen minutes miles this year. I may be a little slower on the benchmark. Keep me posted and thanks for the idea.

FYI -- I modified the title of this post so it won't be confused with details for the 25K on Saturday. Let's use this post as a destination for folks that want an alternate on Sunday.
If organized here, this alternate course on Sunday is an unsupported, unofficial meeting. Be careful out there, plan ahead and bring food, water, and Gleukos. And have fun!

Thanks John,
I just hope we have a few more others in the same boat...

I would be interested in joining you guys. I'm going to be camping and had considered leaving my campsite and driving to portland for the benchmark but I would rather not. Has anyone come up with a route yet?

This was my thought...and please feel free to put in your own ideas...but the route we used for the 12 miler that takes you on the paved trail/then eventually down Blanford..I figured we could repeat that route and add the remaining mileage along the waterfront by Beaches...Just a thought ....Let me know what you think??
Thanks!!

Because you will have very few people doing this, I think you should avoid the BBC Trail and stick to roads. You'll be safer, and you'll have access to stores for bathrooms and water.
I'd like to suggest you follow our 9-mile route to Mill Plain Burgerville & when you get back to beaches, add on the 6 mile out-and-back east to Wintler Park.
I can't post the map - it is too large to attach here - but I'm coordinating with kpowergrl and will email it to her. She can print multiple copies and have them available for whoever shows up.

May also keep in mind...this Sunday is not scheduled for Beaches to open early for us, the bathrooms will not be available till they open at 11AM.
Have fun and be safe!
