Last week was vacation time in San Diego with my family. My biggest concern was how i'll get my long runs on the weekends. Contacted the local coach in San Diego via USAFitnetwork, and I ran with the group down there. Beautiful course by the ocean, and all the support I needed to get through. Thought i'd share this with others who may be travelling and wondering how to keep up with the schedule - just pick a location off the USF Fit web site and contact the local person!

Great suggestion! Most of the cities have websites, so you can find out a lot of information about their locations, start times, etc.. You can either post on their discussion pages, or just show up. They are all happy to host visiting USA FIT members....

Keep in mind that each city is training for their local marathon, so the distances may not be exactly lined up with what you want to do. You can always run a few extra before or after if you need to add mileage that day.

I think running or walking in a new city is a great way to see the area, learn your way around, or get acclimated to a time-zone difference. Gite a try on your next trip!

It is so much fun to meet other USA Fit members. While running Helvatia this year I had a nice chat with a guy from Boston Fit. I also stopped along the Marine Corp Marthons water station supported by the DC Fit crew. It's fun to compare stories and meet people!!
