This was my first half-marathon and I didn't know if I could finish, but I did. I also had a great time! What a beautiful area! Thanks to Paula and Dave and all the wonderful volunteers and sponsors who made this event possible!

Sharon,
I agree but you forgot one person.... YOU! Thanks for showing up and participating.

Pat yourself on the back for doing 13.1 miles in the rain. Thank yourself for starting and sticking with the program.
Laugh knowingly that soon 13miles will be a "light" week.

I thought about it at the finish line on Saturday that it was only half way, but then I also realized that 6 months ago I could hardly run around the block! I know now that I can finish a marathon if I keep up the training.

Excellent attitude to have Brian. And congrats on your finish Sharon!!

Every year we hear members say, "That was tough, I couldn't have taken another step!" And then fear enters in about being able to finish the marathon. Stick with the program and you'll be surprised to learn that finishing a marathon is NOT twice as hard as finishing a half marathon. In fact, if you train right, at the end of the marathon you should feel like you did after you finished Helvetia. (Ok...maybe a teeny bit more tired.) wink.gif

Good job you guys.
