Just Keep Swimming, just keep swimming

We can all learn something from a little blue fish that has a very tough task ahead. Dory’s mantra, “Just Keep Swimming, Just Keep Swimming”, helped her keep her mind focused on the job at hand, and not on how tired her wee little fins were.

In our case, we need to keep our mental game sharp during our upcoming marathon, ½ marathon or other endurance event. We have to train our mind not to listen to our legs when they start saying “I’m Kinda Tired”, or “This is Hard”, or “Are we there Yet?” Follow Dory’s example and find your own mantra to repeat, “Just Keep Running”, or “Just Keep Walking”, or my personal favorite “No Zombie Shuffle, No Zombie Shuffle”.

Remember, the longest distance in any race is the 6 inches between your ears!
