New Website. New Logo.

We’re excited to launch our new website!  2012 is all about “new” for Portland Fit and we’ve got a lot of big things planned.

Our website was at least five years old, so it was due for an overhaul.  But we also took this opportunity to change our logo.  The logo change is a response to two factors.  The first is the impact of social media.  We needed something that would better fit in our facebook and twitter avatars as well as give us a instantly recognizable look.  Thanks to Portland marketing and design firm, Kinesis, for help with the new logo and color scheme.  The second… well, that Big Announcement is coming soon.

We’re also getting compliments on our homepage pictures.  The six main pictures are professional photos, but look closely — all of them are local to Portland or the surrounding area.  And at least three of the pictures actually feature a Portland Fit alum!  The rest of the pics are culled from our members and fans.  Thanks, Everyone!

Savvy followers will also notice our Twitter feed has picked up the pace and we’re nearing 700 followers 800 followers.  Our Facebook page has also been active.  Not only do we have almost 3,000 fans, but we’re excited about the uptick in likes/comments.  We’re also happy to announce that we’ve created our first “facebook deal.”  For every person that ‘checks in’ to Portland Fit on Facebook, we’ll donate $1 to the Forest Park Conservancy.  So when you visit us at our Con-way location for our new Rock’n’Roll Half Marathon training program, don’t forget to check-in!

Like any new website project, there are bound to be hiccoughs.  If you find anything on the site that needs attention, please let me know.  Thanks for visiting.  And stay tuned for more exciting announcements as we work to make 2012 our best year ever.

Stay fit,
John
